Tabletop Tube Sorting Systems

- The Flash-MiniSorter featured above is a tabletop
tube sorting station. The MiniSorter can be configured to
sort a variety of small tubes as follows:
- >Bulk input to tray output
(note trays are also know as carriers and tube-racks)
- >Tray input to tray
output
- >Tray input to
shipper/box/envelope output.
- Flash-Mini systems are modular, allowing SSI to reconfigure
them to suit your exact process. MiniSorter systems may include part
feeders such as bulk-bowl feeders and tube-rack
stackers. Due to the
flexible design of the Flash-Mini product line, multiple functions such
as labeling/marking, dispensing, capping, inspecting,
weighing, sorting, etc. can
be performed within a single system. For
high-throughput applications, multiple units may be placed
in-line, connected by conveyors, with each version performing a
different function. Vial/tube based versions are
especially well suited for clinical laboratory based
processes (blood, urine, tissue and other diagnostic
samples) and pharmaceutical/biotech applications involving
reagent handling. Order preparation and kitting are
other common uses. Work lists can be downloaded from
the customers LIMS/Database/Network, or simply use an Excel
spread sheet, to guide the MiniSorter function.

Production Tube Sorting/Order Processing Systems

- In addition to the tabletop MiniSorter,
SSI also offer the Flash
high-production system. Flash is a
flexible robotic system that combines tube sorting along with a wide
range of tasks such as dispensing, labeling, capping, etc. Like the
MiniSorter, the system accepts work list files from the
customers LIMS/Network/Database/Spreadsheet to perform the
operation. Flash is also able to print and apply
individual labels to each tube while sorting, varying the
text to describe the contents of the tube (part number,
compound description, etc). Flash is used in 24/7
operations for this type of operation.
