Test Systems: The next time you have your blood drawn for
analysis, be sure the check the box on the form for the "VAP
Cholestorol Test"! The image above depicts blood sample handling systems that
SSI
developed, and now manufactures for Atherotech, provider of the VAP
Cholesterol Test. SSI has provided 20, bench top systems that
each handle 16 Beckman blood sample vials per run. Each vial is
robotically (XY Cartesian) transported to a piercing needle, the blood is then withdrawn, heated and
directed to a mass spectrometer to analyze each sample. After testing, each
fluid path is automatically flushed with saline solution to
prepare for the next sample.
